When I first discovered Digg , I was pretty impressed with it. It allows for the rapid dissemination of information, similar to the way Twitter enables you to spread the word about a particular topic with extreme speed. Another great aspect about Digg is the diverse areas that you can post a topic. The site has a number of story topic categories, like technology, lifestyle, and business. Better than that, there are subcategories within these categories for even greater specificity.
Just about my only qualm were the multiple steps Digg requires to post a story. When you’re busy, it can be a bit of a nuisance. It’s for this reason that I’m glad they’re incorporating a one-click button feature to Digg a story. We’ll have to see how the one click feature and posting articles within subcategories works out. Digg is planning on making a number of other changes, such as speeding up the load time of digging an article topic and enabling site publishers to customize the dig button on their site pages, with three new sizes to fit whatever feels best for their specific page.
Digg has also changed their widget generator, so a headline now links directly to a publisher’s content with the Diggbar instead of the Digg permalink page. Digg has incorporated fallback content logic which will backfill with relevant content from the same domain should there be insufficient content to display when loading a page.

"With concepts such as etisalat's eLife, the bundling of services has gained momentum," Mohammed Nasser Al Ghanim, Director-General of Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), told Emirates Business . "This will also change the charging mechanism in terms of the bundling of services based on TV, voice and the internet. Prices for consumers will follow a downward trend once there is competition and more packages." Al Ghanim expects to see mobile broadband prices fall as competition heats up among operators and they compete over quality of service. "When competition is created, there is an opportunity for consumers and the pipe for connectivity is already there. This will push content that is fairly consumer-centric. Again it depends on the type of content and speed of delivery to the customer," he said.
At present, the UAE networks are based on the 3G and HSPA+ standards, which are available to broadband users. LTE is intended to be the next generation of technology.
Informa says the broadband network architecture FTTx – fibre to the x – will be limited mainly to the GCC countries, driven by the UAE and Saudi Arabia, which are forecast to account for 72 per cent of all Mena FTTx subscribers in 2014. By 2014, FTTH/B – fibre to the home or building – subscriptions are expected to represent only about seven per cent of all fixed-broadband subscriptions across the entire Mena region, up from three per cent in 2009.
