All rights reserved - Modelinia, Inc.

Social City has been the fastest growing Facebook game, attracting the network's leisure-time users with its modern, community take on the classic Sim City town planning game.

IBL Announces New- Department of Marketing Communications - OurSports Central (press release)
The International Basketball League (www.IBLhoopsonline.com) is a sixth year professional level basketball league with teams from America, Canada, China and Japan. The following bullet points illustrate some of the important features of the IBL.

The IBL is international: Shanxi China and Edmonton Canada competed in the IBL 2008 season and in the 2009 IBL season, a team from Japan (the Nippon Tornadoes) and a second Canadian team-the Titans from British Columbia (Canada) competed in the IBL. In addition to teams from Asia and Canada playing in the IBL, various IBL teams including the Central Oregon Hotshots have played games in China.

An entertaining game-by allowing only one timeout per quarter, and reducing dead time with an immediate inbounds, International Basketball League games are always fast and entertaining and the contest only lasts 2 hours.

Dates of play: the IBL season occurs after the NBDL season is over; the IBL season occurs after overseas leagues have been completed. The IBL season finishes about one week prior to the NBA summer leagues, NBA summer camps and various overseas tryouts occur. The IBL season occurs from late April through the last day of June with playoffs on July 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The timing of the IBL season has led to great players wanting to play in the league-players who need to continue their development or maintain their development. These players go on to overseas jobs after the IBL season. The IBL has become a development league due to the timing of the IBL season; it all started with the 2007 IBL season-as that season ended-102 IBL players went on to play overseas basketball-and so-this 2007 IBL season was the year that established the IBL as the league to play in-to get or maintain an overseas basketball job.

Why people need robot journalism in the Google era - SmartPlanet.com (blog)
Kristian Hammond quit artificial intelligence 10 years ago, but that is exactly when he created an intelligent machine. Hammond is a professor at the Intelligent information Laboratory at Northwestern University, who has built a computer that can create movie reviews by curating text online found on blogs and on twitter.

The machine can also produce original sports stories from data. And what’s surprising is that the sports stories aren’t actually that bad . Local news stations could find this kind of news generation useful, but Hammond’s personal goal is to create content for every little league player in the country so the team member’s family can read about their performance. Enter the world of robot journalism.

Our lab works on personalized information systems. They take the form of whatever the task is and do a search that would find documents that would be useful to you. Then we realized instead of handing back lists of documents, we could create an experience for you.

News at Seven came out of that. We started working on that a few years ago. We built different kinds of news segments. My favorite is the movie reviews. It goes and finds who is in the movie, who directed the movie. It checks to see if people like it or do not like it. And then picks a narrative arc. If a lot of people liked it and didn’t like the movie, it will create a conversation between the characters from the information it finds online.

Conceptually Driven Sound Design Session At The BSMC - Live Design
RK: I feel that it's very important for all of the choices made by a sound designer to be anchored in the ideas of the play, whether it be a musical or a straight play. Design is about making choices?these choices are easier to grasp in when you hear music I've written, collages I've created, or even the sound effects I've put together for a play, because, well, if I didn't chose or create that content, it wouldn't be there. Those choices are always fueled by my interpretations of the writer's work, in conjunction with the collaborative choices made by the rest of the artistic team about a particular production.

Now, the music is already there, and already helping to do that storytelling. But the way the music is presented, the quality of the sound of the singers, the way the sound interacts with the audience? these are all choices that I'm going to make based on the aesthetic core of the musical.

In every musical, we want the audience to connect to the performers. As a designer, I'm making choices about how that connection is going to happen. And I'm basing those choices, first and foremost, on what this production is about.

LD: How does your process differ from a musical to a straight play; from a new play to an old chestnut? Or does it...

New pages for your viewing pleasure - Stampede Blue
Even though the Super Bowl concluded nearly two months ago, we writers at Stampede Blue have been chuggin' along, generating content at a pace so fast even we have trouble keeping track of what we wrote. Whether it's Joe's excellent draft profiles or Matt's outstanding Mock Draft posts, with all the stuff we have going on, it's easy to forget where all this stuff is.

In order to organize and consolidate all the stories we have written since the Super Bowl, I've added a few special features buttons to the left of the blog.

For now, the features are focused on the draft. As the off-season moves forward, we'll have icons that link to Matt's revolutionary "Winning Stats" page, a training camp page, and much more. These pages will be the updated nerve center for the topics they cover.

The idea behind this is to make it easier for you to find the stories and articles you want, when you want them. If you have ideas or suggestions on story topics, let me know . If you want to offer a nifty logo to one of our pages, send me your design . This is our blog, and it only makes sense that all of us contribute to make it better and easier to navigate.
